CHAURANG

Chaurang is a representational narrative of the traditional chowrang, a piece of furniture slowly displaced from our everyday lives. It embodied a simple ritual of grounding oneself, bringing the body closer to the floor while its raised platform supported the task at hand. More than a utilitarian object, it shaped a way of sitting, working, and being. Chaurang brings this forgotten typology into contemporary spaces, refusing to let the furniture that once gave us a sense of identity disappear with changing times.
