Sutary was founded from a clear observation about the way solid wood furniture is often produced today. Despite India being globally recognized for its rich traditions of art and craft, much of contemporary furniture is built through temporary, makeshift methods that compromise durability and longevity.
This contradiction became the starting point for the studio’s practice and a foundation for our collection.
Sutary’s founder, Rucharani, is a furniture designer with a gentle passion for creating meaningful pieces that enhance everyday living. A graduate of CEPT University, she finds joy in drawing inspiration from cultural traditions, crafting designs that are both simple and elegant. Her skill in working with various mediums allows her to express her artistic vision while remaining true to the stories behind each piece. Rucharani aims to enrich spaces with furniture that not only serves a purpose but also carries a sense of cultural heritage and personal touch
